My primary research interests focus on the role that computer and information technology plays in facilitating and benefiting learning in formal and informal learning environments with emphasis on educational psychology and educational technology. Specific areas of interest include knowledge building, student centered learning, active learning, learning sciences, social computing, role playing games, knowledge management, and motivational factors such as intrinsic motivation, perceived competence, self-efficacy, and self-regulated learning. I have a keen interest in the evaluation of both qualitative and quantitative social science research.
